Srilankan Team attacked in Pakistan

Tuesday, March 3, 2009

It has become trend for us to see many more attacks in the recent times. Following the terrorists attack in Mumbai on Nov 26th 08, when England players were staying at Taj hotel, now this has become the second attack on cricketers. Attacking a bus carrying Srilankan cricket team players, by 12 persons carrying guns, is the utmost shock the world has received yesterday. Six policemen including the driver, and seven cricketers(Thilan Samaraweera (hospital),Tharanga Paranavitana (hospital), Mahela Jayawardene, Kumar Sangakkara, Ajantha Mendis, Suranga Lakmal, Chaminda Vaas and
Assistant coach Paul Farbrace got injured. As the other players lied down immediately, they were able to escape from the attack. All the players were been immediately transferred to the hospitals for treatment. The fast Bowler Muthiah Muralidharan remains safe as conveyed by his wife Malar.

Pakistan is now pointing out its all time rival India for these attacks.Pakistani minister, Sardar Nabil Ahmed Gabol has conveyed this to a private channel. He said the assault came in reaction to the Mumbai attacks, and was a "declaration of open war on Pakistan by India".It has been an ever heard story from pakistan. None of the attackers have been killed and pakistan government is still in the process of manhunt.

India and Australia have refused the tour plans to Pakistan recently in lieu of these security concerns. Moreover the World cup 2011 has been planned to happen at Pakistan. Now this has become a big question mark for the International Cricket Council. Also the IPL matches planned in India will also have issues as the team contains both srilankan and pakistani players. Those who have bid for these players are in a big headache now. No one knows the reason behind these attacks and also the solution for a safer world. GOD Saves Us please!!!
